This is the 9th set of the MTAP Reviewer for Grade 6.

1. Yana bought 20 blouses for Php300 each. He sold 10 blouses at a 20% profit and the remaining at a 10% profit. How much was her profit after selling all the t-shirts?

5. The volume of a cube is 125 cubic centimeter. What is its surface area?

1. If March 8 is a Tuesday, what day is April 8 of the same year?

1. Ten shirts at 300 each is Php3000.00. Now, 20% of 3000 is 600 and 10% of 3000 is 300. 600 + 300 = 900. Therefore, her profit after selling all the blouses is Php900.00. Answer: Php900

3. She gave ½ to her children so only ½ of the cake remained. Now, she gave 1/3 of ½ remaining cake to her neighbors, so the remaining cake is 2/3 of ½ which is equal to 1/3. Answer: 1/3

4. She only studied for 2 hours and 15 minutes. If we add 2 hours to 7:45, she will finish by 9:45. If we add another 15 minutes, this gives us 10:00pm. Answer: 10 pm.

5. Surface area of a cube is 6s2 where s is the side length. The side length of a cube with volume 125 cubic centimeter is 5 centimeter. Substituting, 6(s)2 = 6(52) = 6(25) = 150. Answer: 150 sq. cm.

6. If one number is twice the other, then their sum is divisible by 3. Now, 51/3 = 17. So, the numbers are 17 and 34.

1. The pattern is an alternating plus 2 and times 2.
9. If March 8 is a Tuesday, then March 15, 22, and 29 are also Tuesdays (you add by 7 to the dates and you get the same day). So, 30 is a Wednesday and 31 is a Thursday (March has 31 days!). Next, April 1 is a Friday, therefore, April 1+7 = 8 is also a Friday.
